Who are you all and where are you from?
My name is Aaron Brooks. I sing and play guitar and piano for Simeon Soul Charger. I'm from Akron, OH and I'm not residing in Nandlstadt, Germany.
How did your origin or the places you've been to influenced your work?
The current state of affairs in the United States often frequents my lyrics. I'm generally always pulling from my surroundings.
How would you describe your music? Which songs to recommend to get to know you? And what is the meaning of your name?
I try not to describe the music if I don't have to. It's so widely varied and I don't want to box the band in with a genre. We tend to dabble in all genres and mix them together.
If I could only recommend a few songs I would say, "Sitting on the Rainbow" from our first EP. "The Swallowing Mouth", "A Childs Prayer/Dear Mother" and "Please" from Meet Me In The Afterlife and only because these show the variety of the music.
The name of the band in short means "Audible Soul Ignition", however it mostly refers to an ongoing concept that continuously flows from album to album about an alien circus that offers false transcendence to humans.
What do you think are the pros and cons for mixing genres?
I don't really see any cons. Critics might but its really of no concern to us. We don't set out to mix genres just to do it, we just write songs the way we write songs.
If your music would be edible, what would it be?
What question would you like to get asked? And what would be the answer?
I would most like to get asked, "What question would you like to get asked?" and my answer would be: I would most like to get asked, "What question would you like to get asked?"
(sorry for the stupid answer but I can't really think of anything else.)
What are your three most loved musicians?
At the moment, David Bowie, John Lennon, and Ray Davies.
Any last words... ?
Why, are you going to kill me? CARPE DIEM!
